The morning was misty and the sun was beginning to rise to give this a warm glow surrounding me as I drove past this location and turned around to go back. As I looked for a place on this 2 laned road, a heard of deer jumped and ran across the road to settle in a field eating grass and the remnants of what was planted before. Only 2 vehicles passed by me with one being a sheriff's car that slowed down, I guess to determine if I had broken down or something. I held my camera high to make sure he saw it. You know It's true of small towns you know; everyone knows everything about everyone and for good cause; just watching out for one another.
At nine years old, Theresa Fairchild (F.K.A.Theresa F McGraw) picked up her first camera. Thanks to her parents and their interests in art and photography, she was encouraged to pursue her love of photography. Theresa was all in at a young age and studied and used her dad's 40-year-old darkroom equipment to learn the "Zone System" developed by Ansel Adams. It wasn't surprising to anyone in her family that after a short time, she outgrew the equipment and the space at home and moved on to the photo lab at a nearby Army base, where she self-taught herself the skills needed to work in a wet darkroom developing and printing both black and white film and color film.
